Step 0 — check your phone
An eSIM needs a compatible, carrier-unlocked phone. Confirm yours in 10 seconds.
Install, step by step
On iPhone (iOS)
- Open the confirmation email and tap the QR — or Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
- Label the plan “elesim travel” and keep your home line as your default voice line.
- Leave the eSIM off until you arrive. On landing, turn ON Data Roaming for the elesim line.
- Set the elesim line as your Mobile Data line. You’re online.
On Android
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM → scan the QR from your email.
- Download the profile and name it “elesim travel”.
- On arrival, enable Roaming for the elesim line and set it as your Mobile data SIM.
- Toggle Airplane mode once if it doesn’t connect within a minute.
If it doesn’t connect right away
- Data Roaming must be ON for the elesim line — this is normal and safe; it uses the local partner network, not your home carrier.
- It can take a minute or two to attach to a network on arrival. Toggle Airplane mode once to speed it up.
- Keep your home SIM active for calls and texts. elesim is data-only; use WhatsApp/FaceTime over data.
